I put one on layaway at my LGS yesterday.
Basically a 9mm version of the 10/22 best I can tell. However, there are some very, very good 9mm ammo choices out there these days. Got to test a Marlin Camp 9 for a weekend once and velocity was 200+ fps more in the Carbine. Most of the reviews of the new Ruger puts groups in the 1" at 50 yards with a scope mounted. Kicker for me was 9mm ammo can be purchased for less than the cost of 22 Magnum. I have a couple Tasco Bantam 2.5x scopes hoarded back that'll be just about right for this gun. Add a TAC Light and critters at night will be in real trouble...

I had been looking at the 40 S&W version of previous models... wasn't aware they had started making them again??? ruger.com/products/pcCarbine/models.htmlHmmm... all 3 are 9mm... so no new 40 S&W... & with that threaded barrel, a 45 ACP version would be practical... maybe coming down the line, depending on how the "9" sells???

Could be a consideration. Was interested in building an AR based 9mm PCC but watching a shooter fight with one on the range one day put a damper in that idea. Magazines for the Ruger may be a concern. The PCC shooters like big ones. Hi Cap Glock and Colt mags are easy. Don't know about Ruger.

Hay Axe, I picked up a Sig MPX 9mm Carbine last week an it has been a load of fun. It didn't have any sights and I didn't want to take a red dot of one of my AR's soI put a par of pop up sight on it I had in my parts box. Waiting on a Sig Romeo 5 I have ordered to come in and I think will be a real killer. I'm rigging it up for a dedicated house gun. Bill
