Nice looking. I like them also, but am on the fence about getting, one due to the forcing cone. What loads do you plan on shooting regularly?

I'm not a .44 guy, but that is one sexy little gun.

I picked one up last year, then wished I had waited for the half lug (the grass is always greener) but after handling the half lug I decided I like my full lug the best. My initial efforts with Hornsby staged SWC 240s and 8gr if power pistol leaded the bore pretty fierce. I’m gonna switch to bullseye and w231 for those bullets to see if that helps. The only factory loads I’ve tried where the Black hills 310 cowboy, and HSM 240 Swc and both shot great

As an S&W revolver man, I gotta say, the new GP100 44s are awesome. Congrats on your new blaster.

Good looking piece regardless, and congrats! Nothing wrong if you use it as intended. I know of three, that were sent back to Ruger. 2 for cracked forcing cones, and one looked as if it wasn't heat treat correctly. This comes from the 2 dealers I have dealt with, for the last forty-five years. The two cracked forcing cones were from using the Keith load, and Skeeter load. Those loads are above 15000 psi. The forcing cones are pretty thin for hot rodding it. I have to admit, they are a great looking gun. I especially like the half lug barrel.

I had a cracked forcing cone on my half lug but that was because the factory flattened the 6 o'clock position of the barrel too much and because I couldn't get an accurate cast lead load. I only had 175 shots through her mostly with reloads between 840fps and 1100fps using 240-255gr bullets (only 17 of the 1100fps recipe).
I learned my lesson and am now shooting a SNS 212gr coated RNFP at 1080fps with 8.6gr of unique at 1.484"OAL. This load is shooting 1.5-2" at 25yds and with its 0.300" meplat it should do just as well as a keith bullet at less than 100yds. This load is out of the Sierra book with their 210gr HP and should be close to SAMMI pressure.
I just received a "tanker" holster from El Paso Saddlery and it is an awesome fit and will make a great hunting and hiking holster.
