Good evening all, My brother, bless his soul, just gave me a model 19-3. I've owned Smiths off and on, and I've always pulled the "coke bottle" style grips off. My hands are too small to control the recoil comfortably. I've always placed what I can only describe as "service style" grips accompanied with a Tyler T on my Smiths, as exhibited in picture A. I am searching for a wooden set of this style grips for my new model 19, as I would like to have the 19 set up like the 21 featured below. The set featured in picture A were made by Mr. Grashorn who was specifically asked to carve them without the thumb-web grip, which seem to be all I can find for the model 19. A more specific name for this style, as featured in picture B, that will fit the Model 19 might be helpful. Even the name of manufacturers known to produce this style would be appreciated. You did not mention if your 19-3 is a snub (round butt)or longer (square butt) But I will assume square. I wonder if a call to S&W could shake loose a set of the grips they used on the reintroduced model 22 1917 ? If that fails maybe a set of reproduction Victory grips ?

The model 22 is an N frame gun, so if S&W had a set they would not fit your M19. Ooops , I think I smell a brain fart. I think I was thinking about K frames in the Heritage Series, 15-8 or 17-8. But I think now they were round butts. O well , look to the Victory grips.

I'm no S&W fan myself, but that 21 is one I would be proud to own, now it's gonna have a little bro., gotta love brothers like that!
I think the K frame 19 is the one he want's the grips for?

The way Altamont cuts them for the classics is a little thin for my taste . Full house .357 my be a little uncomfortable. These were cut a little on the thick side and are quit comfortable, in 38 spl. Food for thought.
