Steve, that really is a gorgeous Huntington 45! I love the polished 45 auto cylinder with bead-blasted(?) flutes. Great look all around.... and the walnut, wow! (as always). I've been thinking about a SA in 45 Auto or extra cylinder as I sold alL my 45 auto semi-auto pistols, but Still have a bunch of brass and handloaded ammo that needs to be shot up! ......I asked Jack to flute the .45 auto cylinder in the 1st generation Colt style. ...That's just the way the camera angle/light/picture looks..........though I do like your idea!!!

My alltime favorite handgun is the Colt SAA. Wanted a full size SAA in .22 but didn't like the weight. Ordered a USFA SA .22 RF in the white with their exhibition grade one piece walnut grips. Sent it to Bowen for their light weight package. My first custom and the perfect SA .22 RF.

So... is there a minimum order for a Group Buy on .38 Single Sixes? Perhaps 6-shot Old Models with steel XR3 grip frames and octagon barrels?

My take, is a "boring" cartridge (caliber is bullet diameter!) sixgun gives us access to factory parts. As in, factory replacement parts.
Which means my perspective is that boring cartridges give us a wonderful opportunity to customize outselves. And if we bugger up a barrel, a cylinder, etc, then replacements can be sourced easily.
"interesting" cartridges require special cylinder work and barrel work which is not so easily accessible to us compared to factory ruger offerings.

I guarantee you if I ever get a hankering to try my hand at draw-filing a barrel into an octagon, the first thing I will do is find myself a beater 357 mag ruger single action of any flavor and get to work!
