While Im waiting on my BFR 475L Bisley to come in I figured on getting out on the range to throw some lead down range on this blistering hot 24 degree day.
This is my 6 3/4 in Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 Mag. It started out life as a 9.5in that I picked up at an estate sale for a steal. I had my smith cut it and re-crown.
Ive been working on some loads with Missouri's new Hammer 300 gr bullets. The load has been coming together slowly but surely with 2400.
Im really liking these bullets. They really shine in my 4.2 In Redhawk
It was a little bit breezy so I just worked on 40 yard groups.
Not the best group Ive shot with this load but pretty respectable considering I couldnt feel my trigger finger

Another Labradar fan, nice shooting Yea, It pained me at first to drop the cash on it but now I wonder why I didnt fork over the money sooner. I chrono all ammo from 22 LR to 338 WM. It takes so much of the guess work out of if you have a flier. I know right away if its a velocity deviation or just me

Very nice , What velocity are you getting with that load ? Right at 1126 fps on that day. Its a good load... not too stout and the biggest plus is it shoots really well in all 3 of my Rugers

Day 2 at the range
Was able to get out again today when it was a little warmer - 38 degrees -
Shot at same distance 40 yards with the Ruger SRH 44 magnum
300 grain Missouri Hammers - 1150 FPS with the same load of 2400 - 16.9 grs - This was a 5 shot group
I also brought along some older heavy 44 mags that I used to load for hunting .
320 gr Cast Performance GC - h-110 - 22,5 gr - 1334 fps. I didnt get to down load the labradar reults but the extreme spread was only 20 fps. Probally due to the gas checks
Had one get away from me but i called it. Overall much better groupings as it was a little warmer with next to no wind.

That pretty much settles it for me. I must get an optic on my revolvers !!! Nice shooting ! As I get older I still try and tell myself that my eyes arent getting worse.... I lie to myself alot.
If I have my contacts in I can shoot irons pretty well. I just dont always have my contacts in.

For me. I'm very myopic. Have been since I was little. My contacts are ok. But this newest pair of glasses does very good . They ought to . they cost more than my G20. But wether a pistol scope , or an electronic sight. Getting everything on 1 focal plane is bound to help. Stinks that a lot of the new reticle technology that went into the current crop of low powered Tactical scopes hasn't been put into Scout and handgun scopes.
