Talked to Regan Nonneman and decided I am going for it. Now I am on the hunt for a 336SS. None of the gun shops around here can get ahold of one right now. I am antsy to get this goin'.

Had mine done by him, I really like it but there were a couple of cosmetic issues, that I wish he had taken a bit more time to do right.
Front sight not drilled square on top of barrel.
Recoil pad not fit very well, not a seamless attachment.
I can live with it the way it is, but I rather not have to.

Had Reeder do a marlin for me. Accurate and well done! Foxtrapper Which Reeder package rifle did you go with? Had it done years ago. Don’t think it had a pkg name. I had to supply a laminate stock as the factory wood was splitting from recoil. Even the laminate split during his test firing and he pinned it with ss pins. Eighteen inch barrel with a muzzle brake included. I’d post a pic but with photo bucket crapping out I quit on third party host posting... I shoot the same 375 gc mountain mold bullet in the 50ak and my 510gnr revolvers.

I've tossed around the idea of a Ruger #1 in 50 Alaskan for years.
Have a custom HiWall and TC Encore Rifle in it. Really don't need another one. But, what's need got to do with it.

I am impatient. I decided to use a 336BL but now no one can get ahold of one of these either. Buds list both the BL and SS but for team Buds members only. I suppose I'll have to wait awhile.

Might be a dumb question but why use a 336 instead of a 1895?

336's are typically cheaper than 1895s. I ordered the 336BL from Buds today. It was about $100 cheaper than the 1895BL.

336's also have a standard barrel shank thread. The 1895 has square threads, at least they did before the retool by Rem.
