Reminds me of the rogue bull gopher I caught last week. He was trying to drag the trap under ground back into the tunnel and once I dug him out he was. actually growling and snapping those incisors at me.

He likes that revolver! Is it a .32 or a .357? A model 34 that has an extra .22 mag cylinder, shooting Winchester 40 gr. JHP.............

Back when i was young, i once snuck in between a groundhog (in soybean field) and its hole. I shot it with what i had - a 20 guage single shot with bird shot.
The thing bristled up and came at me like a charging rhino! I speed loaded that shotgun and hit it again not far from my feet. Still remember that and how crazy it seemed that a groundhog became genuinely scary.

Nice ivories!!!!
Are you planning on a skull mount? Or maybe removing the ivories and displaying them on a walnut or cherry backer? Beautiful trophy, congrats on such a fine harvestπ€π€π€£π€£π€£π€£ππ

Did he go in the Croc-Pot ? Killing critters raiding the garden, or even just thinking about it, when growing up,was my job. Remember Mom saying of one..Wow ! How much does that thing weigh ? On the bathroom scale it went 19lbs. Not sure if that was the biggest one I got just only one weighed by even the crude bathroom scale. There was some loss of blood before getting it to the scale. Recall Mom summoning me to duty on day and from the usually successful vantage point I could not see the varmint. So sneaked the rest of the way to the garden and still no critter. I heard a noise in the big spreading apple tree above me and turned and then ducked just in time to avoid the beast diving outta the apple tree ! Not saying he was going for the back of my neck or anything, just on his best flight path back to the brush. Did have boyhood friend in Va. that him and his dog carried scars from hand to paw combat with woodchucks.
