So my brother has picked up a 450 Bushmaster upper and asked about loading for it. Can cast bullets be run in ARs reasonably or is it more headache than it is worth to even think about it...

No problem using them as long as they chamber and extract easily..... no jamming bullet into the lands. I'm shooting a 45 Raptor (outclasses the Bushmaster badly) with excellent accuracy and velocity.

BUT the Bushmaster and superior .458 SOCOM are ar-15 based where the .45 raptor is ar-10 based, if that makes any difference to you.

While the SOCOM out does the Bushmaster some, the Raptor absolutely stomps the daylights out of both, not that either of the others is a piker. Go here: www.45raptor.com/45RAPTOR/performance/ and see for yourself. As for the difference between the AR-15 and AR-10.... there is not much of one today with all the carbines out there. I have both and would take the 10 any day.
