I had the best luck with 2400 from mid range to full power loads. I had tried #9, H110, W231 and longshot but 2400 won in my old 4.2 incher. I was able to get a solid 1400fps with a 115 gr hard cast bullet.
What is this sledgehammer I keep hearing about?

Took mine out for the first time today. I didn’t measure, but the tigger pull seemed reasonable for a new revolver. I only had 7 rounds of .327 left from when I had a Single Seven so I didn’t shoot for any kind of group, just a “getting to know you” spin.
I did have one disappointment though. In the Single Seven I had, I could fire .32ACP but it appears that’s not possible with the SP. Since I’m in the land of factory ammo for the foreseeable future, .32ACP made for a nice, low blast plinking round.

It would make a very compact trail gun, much more effective than a 22 in the same size. forgot to add, it also has far better control ability in a gun this size than the 357. I am one who allways thought as a sporting arm the 357 mag was missing it on both ends, bigger than I like for small game,, but not as big as preferred for big game. I think this cal, will also be as good as it gets for small game, and do about anything the 357 mag will do with the proper bullets on deer and smaller big game. I will never find out for that big end as I have much better calibers for that, but a lot a varmints and small game are going to take dirt naps using this cartridge,, just in the larger GP platform for me.
