This shows some potential. Today at 50' offhand with 260 gr Nosler JHP and IMR4227. Ten shots here at about 2" up and down. Also liked the Hornady 250gr XTP and 7.6grs of W231, a load worked up for a Ruger of mine.

Thanks for looking! Boats Have you shot this yet boats? Yep. I tried 4 different charges of HS-6 behind the MP 45-270-SAA I make. They average about 284 grains with my alloy. It was easy to control but the grips bit me in the palm. I have a set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro's waiting for it when the gunsmith is done slicking it's action. Happy Shooting. Boats

A five inch S&W m-29 Classic has become one of my favorite packin pistols and your 45 Colt has the benefit of SS.....

A five inch S&W m-29 Classic has become one of my favorite packin pistols and your 45 Colt has the benefit of SS..... ***** Those are good looking guns with the Python shroud. As for grips, James, your Steve Herrett/Bill Jordan handle, even with the flattened butt, would suit my hand far better than the Hogue Monogrip with Buck Rogers finger grooves. Tried that Hogue on various sixguns many years ago. Just as the Pachmayr Gripper for the Redhawk would do years later, the deep finger grooves spread my fingers to inflict VERTICAL STRINGING on target. You can carve off the finger grooves on Pachmayr neoprene; to try that stunt on the Hogue Monogrip quickly exposes the cheap egg carton innards. David Bradshaw

"You can carve off the finger grooves on Pachmayr neoprene;" DB I`ve put a file to a number of Pachmyer grips for a better feel if only to remove the checkering for a flat, rough finish that feels good to the hand..
