Nice...I like the sights....
Have one just like that in 9mm with the standard sights and a 3" .327 Federal.... Great "little" guns...

Little tanks with limits of power set by you as the gun don't feel a thing.

Some judicious practice and some interior cleaning on the action, then 50 rounds double action 357s, to set the action, and you will have what some owners call their "Steel Pig" a glutton for 357s. I have one and it is a great carry piece, love the sights. Have the rubber Diamond Pro Pachmayrs' on mine, helps with healthy 357s
Duplication loading for the Speer Short Barrel 135 grain 357 is 140 XTP in 357 cases, standard primer, 9.0 of Power Pistol, bullet crimped at the cannelure. Nice, accurate load and it's doing 1067fps out of the same bbl length weapon. This load also shoots point of aim/point of impact with the sights.

Its the factory loaded Hornady 125 grain XTP JHP. They are great in my 686 S&W. Just have to get out back and do some shooting. Its too cold today though.

Have a few friends that pack SP101's in 357 for fishing/hiking guns. They like them, user friendly !

Congratulations, 357Magnum is a great round and these SP101’s are popular & seem to be really sturdy five shooters. This piece may outlast your great grandchildren!

mk70ss: Lots of folks like the SB357 load that Speer sells. The handload I posted is a practice load that duplicates their loading. It's mid range 357.

SP101 is Ruger’s smaller frame, five shots of 38/357. The GP100 is the “standard size” frame, six rounds of 38/357.
Barrel lengths, etc can be different between the two models.

squawberryman: The SP is almost identical in size with a Colt DS. Barrel lengths are 2.25, 3.16 and 4.2. The 4.2" is adjustable sighted. They come in 22lr., 38 Spl, 327, 9mm and 357. They weigh about 26.5 ozs up to 32.0 oz.
The GPs weigh in a 36ozs and up to around 44 ozs. The GPs are similar in size and function to the L frame Smith and Wesson.
