My dad gave me a vintage 1894 Takedown, appears to be either 24” or 26” barrel, with a vintage tang peep sight. It’s a bit loose but bore is in decent shape and exterior steel is good, buttstock is a perchbelly, with steel crescent buttplate and its in ok condition with a pretty good gouge and other small dents and scratches but overall very good for the age. The gun belonged to a distant family hunter so I’m looking at keeping it as a user and continue its intended life.
My plan is to clean it up, tighten it up and take it hunting next year. I know I can get a Factory letter giving me info but do I make that request to Winchester or is there a Winchester Collectors group???

Discovered it was made in 1906, factory letter is applied for. Very nice octagon, TD, a few buggered screw heads, and a bit loose, but a very nice trigger break for a lever action.
