in my thread about base pins & ejector rods... today I ordered a blued Sheriff's locked base pin... & it got me thinking...
back when I was younger, my hands sweated all the time... I got into stainless guns because of that... fortunately as I got older, my hands became less corrosive, & I got to play with prettier guns... but along those lines, I'm curious if anyone ( ala palomino style ) took a blued gun, & put on a stainless hammer, trigger, base pin, & ejector rod & possibly tube??? though I'm debating in my mind a stainless ejector & blued tube...
just in my mind, it might look OK with blued frame, grip frame, barrel, & cylinder, with the stainless parts I mentioned... thoughts... pictures???

I like a little stainless on a blued sixgun. The key word being a little.

I have a couple, but the parts are polished aluminum (same look though). .30 Streaker / .32-20 convertible .41 Magnum -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Lee... do you find it difficult to keep the aluminum in a "polished state"?

I personally find it pleasing to the eye, in fact I have bead blasted & either brush finished or polished a number of aluminum grip frames on my Ruger SA's over the years. I polished the grip frame on my "Pet" 1958 vintage Single Six well over 20 years ago & it remains shiny to this day.

Until recently mixing blued steel and stainless didn't appeal to me at all. But I'm beginning to like the look of a nicely blued revolver with a stainless hammer and trigger...sort of scary, but true.

Love the two tone look. Reminds me of the S&W Pinto

I wouldn’t have given it a second look myself until a couple years ago, now I find it quit pleasing.

The stainless steel trigger guard & grip frame enhanced the appearance and added about 5 ounces to the weight of the Ruger single action revolver. The added weight makes it easier to control maximum .45 Colt loads tailored just for the Ruger New Model Single Action. I also replaced the aluminum ejector rod housing with a blued steel version adding about one more ounce to the overall weight. In retrospect, I should have used a stainless steel ejector rod housing...... I really like the looks of Lee Martin's .32-20 WCF revolver; it is gorgeous. It took me four days of hand lapping both sides of the grip frame on flat granite so it would be flush with the revolver frame. J.D. Press
