I have Starline .500 Special 1.275" cases that I'm planning to use in my .500 JRH BFR. I was looking to use a 440gr cast bullet with HS-6 powder and looking for speeds of 900-1000 fps. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I'd bet 50 AE data would be mighty close to what you need.

Any .500 JRH data in that area? That design you want incorporates a crimp groove on it for the Special to achieve JRH length.

15.0gr HS6 under a 440gr WFNGC (Both Cast Performance and Leadheads), lit by either Fed 210 or CCI350 chronos right at 1,040fps from my 5" JRH FA conversion. This is at 5 long paces from the muzzle and 60 deg F.
Comfortable load to shoot even for me -- shoot just enough to shoot until my mind says "just one more". Have also use 350gr XTP, 370gr Cast, 400gr Cast and some Lee (supposedly 440s) that weighed closer to 475gr with equally satisfying results. Obviously recoil is greater as bullet weight increases.
I would probably back it down a grain or so to start if using 500 special cases.
