Well, I sent a Marlin 1894 357 mag to Ranger Point Precision in Texas back in August to have it converted to a Short Stroke 357 Sig. I really like that cartridge and own at least 4 pistols in that caliber. My 1911's from Sig Sauer throw a 125 grain jacked bullet at 1450 FPS and are silly accurate. The Rifle will be just another range and Jack Rabbit gun for me to play with. Merry Christmas . My rifle shipped this week and I should have it Thursday.

Unless things have changed over the past year, the last round bolt hold open is in the upper not the lower. Quarter Circle 10 has been regarded as he best but they never had anything in stock when I was looking last year so I went with New Frontier Armory lowers. If you're looking at 10mm or .45, I'm not aware of any extended capacity mags. My carbine is a complete PSA upper (no last round hold open) on a New Frontier Armory lower. I built the the pistol with a regular Aero upper receiver (no last round hold open), bolt and barrel from Spinta Precision, New Frontier Armory lower and the rest came from MAS Defense, Runner Runner Guns and JoeBob.

As far as carbine's that take Glock or Colt mags, I've got nothing for ya. FWIW my boys and I have been putting the 77/44 and 77/357 through the wringer for the last year or two. There robust , no frills, fantastic little carbines in the stainless/plastic configuration, I think there is nicer looking one available now. We've shot them with optics, but mostly with sights, and we've shot them with jacketed, but mostly with cast. It all depends on one's application I guess, but I can hardly imagine anything much better, except for a 77/45. If that ever happens, I will be the first guy on the pre-order list.

I have a 4" Palmetto State Armory SBR that uses Colt style mags. I went with the Colt mags because I didn't have any 9mm Glock mags at the time, and Palmetto had the Colt style mag on sale for ~$15. Now, there are other sources of Glock style mags, Magpul and ETS are two. Though the Colt double feed mags are easier to load than the single feed Glocks. I have been thinking of doing a Glock lower, but I just don't want to spend the $200 to SBR (Short Barrel Rifle) another lower. My rifle looks like the one pictured below, but has a Magpul butt stock and uses the Colt mags. I assume you have a herd of Glock mags, and that makes sense to go in that direction. Mobjack Lover of little rifles.

I've stumbled upon the BATFE's idea of an AR Pistol. I think the SBR market will not exist for long. The AR based pistol with a proper brace works good for me. A buddy talked me into building a AR based 22LR pistol and the whole idea blew up iun my head. Built/bought AR pistols in 22LR, 556, 300BO and 7.62x39. They shoot good and are fun to shoot. My 6.5 Grendel build will be a rifle but the rest will be pistols.

I lost track of your 7.62x39 pistol thread. What were the specs on it?

If you already hav a Glock you could just add Endo Adapter, a Pistol Buffer Tube, and a Shockwave "Arm Brace Stabilizer”. Here is a link - www.endotactical.comI have one for my Glock 19 that has been milled for a RMR sight. It is removable, light weight, and very fun.

I personally would never go the SBR route since the BATF ruling on being able to shoulder the braces. For high capacity 45, Kriss makes a +17 extension for Glock 21 mags, making 30 rounds. I believe they also are making them for 10mm (G20 mags) now too. GWACS or the former Cavalry Arms lowers, have a notch in the magwell to use grease gun mags with an Olympic Arms 45 upper. But I believe you have to use a magwell adapter like a Haan, if they are still made... As for the Glock mag AR lowers, I think PSA is making a decent priced one as well. Another interesting one I'd like to try is a Chiappa PAK9, which is an AK style pistol that can use Beretta 92 mags, or Glock mags with a simple mag adapter swap. www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/03/08/chiappa-9mm-kalashnikov-pistol-review/

I purchased a gun from a company called "Just Right Carbines" back in October or November of 2012. Unfortunately, I only got to put a few boxes of ammo through it before they passed the SAFE act here in NY, and I ended up shipping it out to my father in Arizona. I've only been out to visit him once since then, so the gun has only about 500 rds. through it so far. In those 500 rds., I've found it to be a lot of fun to shoot. It's eaten everything I've fed it (pretty much all fmj) and though I haven't actually sat down at a bench and shot it for group size, it seems to be quite accurate. I got the quad rail carbine, similar to this one: Mine is in 9mm and since I'm in NY, came with the stock pinned in the open position- something I'll have to rectify next time I visit my dad. They use Glock magazines, and they make them in 9mm, .357 Sig, .40S&W, and .45ACP. They also sell caliber conversion kits, with a new barrel, mag well, etc., and the guns can be converted pretty easily from right to left handed. All in all, I'm quite happy with it. www.justrightcarbines.com/Hope it helps. Doug

As has been said there are several ways you can go. Most pcc on the AR platform are going to be blow back and will have more recoil because they require heavy buffer springs and buffers to keep the action closed long enough during firing. I would suggest going DI (gas operated) depending on the caliber recoil will be less. Also they use standard 223 buffers, springs and carriers (although the bolt face will need to be opened for the case rim of chosen cartridge. There are several companies that build DI pistol caliber uppers in everything from 9mm to 50AE. I have several in 10mm, 45 acp, 9mm, 45 WinMag, 50GI and 50AE they all run great and are accurate. With choosing to go with a Glock mag lower you have 2 choices, 9mm mag and 45 mag. Also on mags I have used several aftermarket mags with no issues. As has also been stated some of the last round bolt hold open devices are not 100% but can be tweaked to work. For me LRBHO is not an issue I can do with or without it. I will also say that all of my pcc guns are fun to shoot and they are a great way to bring new people into shooting.
