I'll just bet that one balances real nice. Hope it shoots lights out for you. Isn't it lighter than the Redhawk in same barrel length? It sure looks handy.

You just get that? Nice gun.... Recently. Was less than a year's wait! Aaaaahhh.... I read the rest of the post saying it was a rebored cylinder...... That's how you got it...... The cylinders for the 5 shot conversions have been hard for BCA to get.... NOTHING wrong with the re-bore mind you....

Some comparison weights I can offer though: 6 shot 4.5" stainless GP45 Colt empty with crappy Hogue grip: 2 lbs 14 oz With custom wood grip: 2 lbs 12.8 oz 6 shot 4.5" stainless GP45 Colt loaded 350 grain bullets: 3 lbs 3.3 oz 6 shot 4.5" stainless NMB Bisley .45 Colt loaded 350 grain bullets: 3 lbs 1.3 oz 5 shot 4.5" stainless NMB Bisley 500L loaded 450 grain bullets: 3 lbs 4.9 oz The balance point for all three of these guns is essentially identical. It's dead center through the trigger finger axis.

Nice Piece there J.P. My 4" Redhawk with a Ruger 454 Cylinder in it weighs 2lbs 13ozs. I think that was with Nill Griffe wood grips. Not sure with the current Butler Creek rubber grips

The five versus six still makes me giggle. I've got some Buffalo bore 45 that's throwing 300 at 1,300. I'm guessing Paden's gorgeous gun would handle that. What comes above that? Read Lee's article. Just what WOULD it take to twist the yoke on that? Paden whar are the pictured loads?

The first of these types of conversions Bowen did were using Dan Wesson shrouds. Made a dang good looking sixgun! I have a stainless 4" Dan Wesson shroud and all the accessories if somebody wants to swap me out of it. I would be interested in the DW barrel. Will pm you.

Paden what are the pictured loads? I prefer subsonics. They're 350 (my avatar bullet) at 1050. That'll make two holes in anything necessary. The gun's capable of the rocks and dynamite stuff Snyd and others like to sling though. The cylinder's much larger diameter than the Blackhawk. What grip is that. Looks similar to the X frame hogue. They're the factory Hogue's that came on the Alaskan. I don't care for them. myself. They might be ok for a person with huge hands, but for me they're excessively long and I don't like the finger grooves. Am working on a custom pair of rosewood shoes, and have an original 3.75" GP100 grip with side panels en route from Ruger too.

I have been wanting to get on his list for this exact same gun for a couple months now, how long was the wait, and how much sweeter did it make it when you got it? That would be my perfect double action revolver,,, very nice, congrats!
