Was there ever a .50-70 conversion for them after the Civil War?
I had a standard breechloading .50 repro carbine about 10 years ago but I can't think of anyway a conversion could have been easily done. A quick search turned up one reference to a "family gun" converted to .50-70 but there were only a couple of pictures and none showing the conversion or actual ammunition used.
