Some may remember me talking about my 10-22 that I had set up with Tech Sights, for Appleseed shoots, and that my eyes weren't good enough any more...well I just bought a Pride Fowler Rapid Reticle RR Evolution-22 LR in 3 - 12X... if you've seen the pictures of my sporting rifles, you know I've got a "couple" scopes... this is one of the most impressive out of the box scopes I own, and it's calibrated for 22 LR, both high velocity, and subsonic... 1st focal plane 3 color ranging reticle ( does a 9" object out to... 220 yards ) & holdovers also to 220 yards for high velocity 22 & for subsonic ammo out to 190... "zero" resets on the target turrets... I'm typically not a battery powdered scope guy, but this looks really 1st rate so far www.midwayusa.com/product/144979/pride-fowler-rapid-reticle-evolution-rifle-scope-30mm-tube-3-12x-42mm-first-focal-illuminated-ballistic-22lr-reticle-matte

I had forgotten about the Pride Fowlers, or didn't know they were still made, I need to take another look.
I have a 4-16 Weaver on a CZ for 2 reasons, an extra fine crosshair, & parallax adj. down to 10 yards. No BDC, but semi target turrets help.
I grit my teeth & bought 2 BSAs'. A Sweet 22 & a Sweet 17. At 50 & 60 bucks a pop I didn't expect much but wanted to try their BDC system. So far so good. The things work. The 17 went to the Prairie Dog towns a couple years back & the knobs got a good workout, 840 rounds worth. Shot it last week & the "doggone" thing still tracks. One complaint, coarse crosshairs.
If you're thinking 3-400 bucks & don't care for batteries, Leupold has a 3-9x33 AO rimfire with CDS, & fine duplex. No flies on a Leupold IMO.
Also have a 36x Weaver on an Anshutz, but that's another animal, parallax adj. down to 15' though, & good turrets.
Rimfires can be a challenge to scope if you're getting serious, a lot of the centerfire models don't always seem to work.

Parallax adjustable on this one down to 10 yards, & further... ( lowest mark is 10 yards, & it turns quite a ways past )
I have a BSA Sweet 17 on on my custom 17 Mach 2... it's rubber armored, & is all sticky... not totally sure what causes that, but it's "yucky"
I have several Leupold scopes, but no rimfire so far...
I'm not a huge rimfire fan... but also have a Kollmorgan Bear Cub on an older CZ bolt action 22

I have the Leupold Rimfire's, the 4x's, the wonderful little 2-7x's, and the 3-9x AO you mention above, there are fantastic. We likely have a half dozen rimfire models from other makers and there great, but don't compare to the Leupy's. Try them MWM , and you may find yourself on a slippery slope outfitting your favorite .22s with them.

I just don't buy rimfire scopes as a rule.... A group of buddies back home run a 200 yard 22LR golf ball match. These guys have deep pockets and a history of BR50 competition. They routinely run Nightforce glass on their guns. Custom barrels and custom actions are the rule... Ammo is whatever their guns shoot the best. They don't blink at $41/100 Eley Tenex. Pretty much shooting for just bragging rights too. I picked up a Kimber and stuck an old B&L 6-24 on it. Haven't been to play yet... My take is as with all shooting sports. When you hold basic good equipment it boils down to the singer not the song...
