Long story short, I need a new chronograph. I HATE the read-out box attached via phone chord (Shooter Chrony). Anyone know of a hood chrony that has a remote read-out or can work with my Android smart phone?

I have been using LabRadar mostly for last year or so. Works great. No window to shoot through no wires etc. love it

I like the idea behind the Lab Radar but it is so pricey, right now I can't afford it. I may save up. On the Competition Electronics, I read it needs to be used under 100°F... I live in Arizona. How true is this? It may mean that doing chrony sessions in summertime are strictly limited to VERY early mornings.

The LR is nice and I agree not the cheapest thing out there. But the hassle you save is worth it over time. I'd save up for a little bit and bite the bullet

The videos on the LabRadar have taken up a lot of my time....
Zeus any merit to the purported problem of aiming the thing?

I don't ever have any issues personally. I have run it beside multiple other chronys and it's on the money accuracy wise.
It has a little "sight" on top so I just use that. There is also a way to position it if you are using a suppressor and it never misses a beat. Guys here showed me when we were out shooting because they were NOT using the microphone attachment. Works great!

I'm leaning towards alukban's suggestion for the immediate future. Then getting a Lab Radar down the road.

I've been thinking about the Lab Radar for about a year now, maby one needs to come for christmas. The old blue chrony is over 20 yrs old and sure dosen't owe me anything if I update it.

Just ordered the Competition Electronics chronograph and BlueTooth adapter from Amazon. Thank you alukban for providing the suggestion and the Amazon links.

Wonder how black Friday will affect the Lab radar. I've never been a black Friday guy but this year I will be. shame I can't run someone over at Wal-Mart to get it.

I'm not a Black Friday guy either, but even if the LabRadar was at Wally World, there is no one in hell I'd go there on Black Friday. It's like trying to survive the Gaza strip.
