Ran across one at the local pusher. I'm not finding much in the way of reviews and what I have run across are mostly complaints about the trigger and the un-Remington-like fit and finish. I haven't seen anything about accuracy or reliability.
It feels good and looks good IMO but then again I like AKs and Mosin-Nagants so maybe I was the target audience instead of the Remchester crowd.
Anyone here have any experience with them, good or bad?
Thanks!

Once Remington got its hooks in Marlin/H&R they didn't need a import but then again they could not make a single shot H&R with their people so its gone to the wind.

I have one of the side by side double rifles, ( mines a 45-70 ) I like it, & it's interesting, but not particularly beautiful... on these single shots, I'd expect them to be functional ( like most of the Russian products ), but not particularly refined feeling... being as I had to look on the www to see exactly what it was... it looks like it's been offered in several different trim levels... some black with black stocks, some with pretty wood & spiral fluted hammer forged barrels, & some with plainer wood, & regular round tubes... what style is the one you're looking at???

This one is plainer wood, non-chckered IIRC, but it does have that spiral hammer forged barrel which is what caught my eye initially.

I just put one of those on my Ruger 10-22... it is an interesting look.... I would think that with that barrel, the .308 should be a good shooter

I would think so and I think that would keep the barrel from being "whippy". OTOH it's fairly light so full throttle loads may not be on the menu very often...

If I saw one and wanted it would snatch it up if price was reasonable. I base that statement on experience because I own two of the double rifles both the .45-70 and .30-06 versions, a 28 gauge double, .410 bore single shot, a .22lr/.410 combination and an older pre-Remington labeling 7x57R Mauser/12guage combo. A late friend owned a set of double rifles matching mine and a 6.5 Swede/12guage combo. We saw nothing but excellent accuracy and ak47 type reliability from them all. They are typically very tight and need a good lube/ break in period for the hinge points. The only complaint I have had is automatic safeties which I despise on doubles and have disabled on all of mine so equiped

Thanks!
I looked at it again today. The wood is checkered, I overlooked that the first time around. I can also see a couple of places where the barrel finish has been damaged. I know I could get it for $360 OTD which seems a decent price considering it has a Nikon scope mounted (I don't recall the power though).
Need to ponder more...

A 6.5x55/20ga or 7x57/20ga would be a thing of joy I would imagine.

I have a pair of Baikal o/u combo guns chambered in .22 magnum over 20ga. These are hammerless guns, not the less expensive .22/.410 combination guns.
Accuracy from the rifle barrel on either is excellent, and the smoothbore barrel is set up with internal chokes. Oddly enough, there is a small walnut handguard over the top barrel, right at the balance point if you are carrying in one hand. Since these are VERY popular in Siberia and the Taiga with trappers and subsistence hunters, the handguard makes perfect sense.
It would take an outrageous amount of money for me to give up one of these darlings. With 20ga slugs and birdshot, plus .22 magnum ammo, a fellow has a pretty versatile gun for living off the land.
Too bad the entire line is verboten thanks to Obama......
