Greetings All, Like others I've been a SAA 'enthusiast' [ not a strong enough descriptive for what I am] for many years, found this place and decided to sign up! Here's a couple of pics of two of my favs, an original 1880's Colt M1873 SAA 7.5".45LC and the other a 1st Gen Colt M1873 7.5"bbl in .44-40, reproduction leather rig with the blued gun and an original antique leather holster rig with the .44-40, both in fine mech and shooting condition, black powder only please!

ARE YOU SAYING THESE ARE REAL COLTS MADE IN THE 1880s???

Welcome to the forum.... great looking SAA's 😉 Thanks cmh! Both of them are terrific shooters as long as I keep the handloads low powered and black powder only.

Man those are some nice set ups there! I am guessing the 44 was refinished at some point?

Hard to accept that the bottom gun is an 1880's Colt, as I view it on my I-Pad. I didn't think the transverse cylinder pin latch was introduced until 1892, but the entire appearance of the refinished gun seems ... very rich, for an early Colt. Great leather and accoutrements.
