I know some might find them obnoxious though I think I'd like to send Gary the grip frame from a .44 Bisquero for a set of laminate grips. I was considering blue/black for this revolver and was curious if anyone had pictures of theirs? The alternate option is to give it a go myself and round butt the grip frame and reshape the factory panels. Here's the gun as it sits, I've got everything how I want it except from the grips at this point:

If you've seen Gary's grip work posted by Axe and Encore you'll know he does good work. I really like the laminate grips Ruger has with the brownish burnt orange/black.. just wish they fit better!

I've seen some excellent examples, just trying to decide which colors I want at this point. I agree with the factory grip fit, it's poor at best on most of the Bisley models I've owned.

So you have another one of those things? Slippery slope it is having a single action sitting around just needing some work done. Does it have a trip to Woodlawn Va in it's future?
I'd say a set of blue/black laminate will give it a "that's sure different" look. I'm in total agreement on the round butt frame.
Don't you have a set of bi color laminate on that FA97?
Meant bi color, but autocorrect hooked me up and I didn't proof read!

This one is not likely to take a trip out for surgery. I had originally considered that once upon a time though it seems to shoot well with 44 special and magnum loads out to 100 yards. Couldn't justify a caliber change in this case. The FA is a M83 and yes those are the green laminate, I like them quite a bit. If I ordered another FA down the road it would be a matching 97 in 45 Colt, also with green RB grips.

Well...now I'm wondering about the brown/green/blue combo. Those looks really nice. These are the blue style I was originally thinking, picture is linked to his website:

Being a stainless gun you could refit those factory panels to perfection and round butt it yourself.
Drill the locator pin hole oversize. The portion nearest the main frame can be undercut slightly so that when you push the panel up it appears as a seamless fit (pull your FA panels- this is how their grips fit). Epoxy the locator pin hole with the grips in position pushed up against the upper part of the grip frame. All you've gotta do then is file/sand/finish the lower part of the grip frame flush with the grips and rounded as you like.
Pretty easy really and you can have nice rosewood panels that fit better than what all but the best grip makers will get you.
FWIW, the last few months the Reeder grip panels I've seen haven't been as nicely fit as those from a year ago- small gaps visible at the top of the grip frame mostly. Not sure if his guy is getting overloaded or what. Still good for the money/time frame, and I'm hopeful for when my guns return from his shop.
Those blue laminates look great and the fit looks fantastic. That's what we'd gotten used to seeing come out of his shop.

One thing of note is they are fit to perfection in typical Reeder style.

I've been kicking around the idea to send my FA97 to him for some grips myself for a while now.
I think that blue laminate would look great on that Bisquero!!!

IThe alternate option is to give it a go myself and round butt the grip frame and reshape the factory panels. I did mine years ago and I LOVED the way it felt, UNLESS.... I was actually shooting it.

Reeder also has a new Ivory colored material that looks pretty good and is probably all kinds of tough. His grip maker is superb.
