On the recent trip to Hondo, I made it a point to go through Fredericksburg to visit Cimarron Firearms' store, Texas Jack's. The fact that this took me around Austin and San Antonio traffic was no coincidence. Anyway, it's a great shop with a whole bunch of their guns on display, ready for purchase. Along with CAS clothing and gear. What first caught my eye was the racks of gunleather, most of which comes from El Paso Saddlery. They had floral carved Theodore Roosevelt holsters and belts on sale for 35% off and as I looked through the stuff, I knew I'd have to get something. I moved onto looking at used guns, stopping to fondle a Colt Burgess replica as well as a Colt Lightning rifle by Pedersoli and then the new stuff. I handled some nice stuff but the only thing that really that tempted me to take home was a Chiappa 1892 .44Mag because they have the new fast twist. I mentioned something about the .44Spl while talking to the clerk and he said, "if you like the .44Spl, check this out". I knew I was in trouble when he brought out a pair of used Cimarron Model P's, both in .44Spl and both stocked in BarS TruIvory. One with 5½" barrel, the other a 7½". I agreed to give them both a new home, emailed the clerk a copy of my local dealer's FFL and perused the rest of the store. I knew that I needed to get some leather for the new guns and found a Theodore Roosevelt belt that was the perfect fit, along with a holster for the 5½" gun. For the 7½" I found a crossdraw Duke holster. I could have easily made a new rig for myself but sometimes it's nice for someone else to do all the work. Can't wait to try some favorite .44 Special loads in them.

Thanks! The 5½" really won out on the case colors and "grain".

The Bar-S Tru ivory is the best looking ivory substitute material I have seen. Great looking set up Craig.

Texas just don't make money from oil. Big Boy toys help the budget a lot. Great set up I like two different looking holsters on a rig. He wanted to kill me,he lost and I'm taking his gun now get out of the way.
