Should I use loading data for cast or jacketed?
My gut tells me cast because that are cast after all, but does the coating allow for loading it as if it were jacketed? I'm still in the Reloading 101 stage so this is new to me and Load Data gives me the option to sort by cast or jacketed...

Load cast for what they are----cast. A POWDER COAT cast bullet in no way resembles the bore resistance of a jacketed bullet.

+1 on what David said. The powder coating should give you more lubricity and therefore a slight increase in velocity. I found that accuracy is usually improved.
They can be loaded to the crimp or deep seated.

They can be loaded to the crimp or deep seated. On some forums, this would be heresy, but I too have found PC'd bullets shoot better at all ranges for my Single Actions. I can sum up my experience with them to say I love powder coated bullets. I haven't told my wife yet! Oh, as stated by Mr Bradshaw, same data as cast as that is what they are. |
