Two models built as Lipseys exclusives. A blued model built like the African rifles of yesteryear and a stainless with the full length stock.
Needless to say, I went with blued gun.
Absolutely the finest bolt action rifle I've ever held. I'll scope with a Nikon 3-9x BDC scope and may polish or replace the trigger. Other than that, it'll remain as is.
Historians will know the 275 Rigby is the British name for the 7x57 Mauser.
Cool gun for sure...

I have had the No. 1 .275 for a bit, and like it a lot. I saw the 77 and passed only because of the No. 1, otherwise I would have one too.

This is a fine piece of work from Ruger. I'm a Ruger fan, but this quality was unexpected.
The bluing is deep like the old Belgium Brownings. The walnut is simply stunning.
Old style red buttplate, ebony stock cap and crossbolt for added stock strength. Granted not needed on a 275 Rigby, but an eloquent touch.

That sounds like a beautiful rifle, I seen pics of the stainless full wood and liked it alot to, having either one with the .275 Rigby markings would be great.

7 X 57 Mauser is one of my favorites... I have an early Mauser professionally sporterized that I really like in that cartridge...
so... can you find brass headstamped 275 Rigby??? did a quick search... looks like Hornady offers both ammo & brass stamped as 275 Rigby

it has to be mine too!!! i had a m98 mauser action(i believe it was FL) and i had built it in 7x57 with a 20" douglas premium barrel. i could shoot 1/2" holes at 100 yards all day. then i gave it to my son on his 16th birthday. i'm glad you have it!!!

Like others, I bought a M98 Mauster, Brazilian I believe, in 7x57 only to find the corrosive priming had eroded the grooves out to 30 cal while the lands were crisp 7mm..
Put a Douglas bbl on that one, with a 140 gr. match chamber + a Timmney trigger, black stock and shoots 1/2" all day... Fine, fine caliber

I'm not a bolt action rifle man. But, this one was so beautiful with the traditional African design, I couldn't resist.
I even have a TC Contender barrel that's dual marked as 7x57 on one side and 275 Rigby on the other.
Love the caliber...
