I was reading Craig's thread in the Single Action section about his JRH family and it finally jelled in my mind, I've come to really like engraved revolvers and octagon barrels. engraved JRHWith that in mind, I'm going to be staying close to home this R&R while my wife recovers from surgery. It would be great while I'm taking care of Etta to check in here to see some pictures of the engraved revolvers you fellows have. I expect to catch up on my reading and get quite a bit of forum time while she rests and recovers. I know I'd be a copycat, but Craig, if and when I have an engraved custom revolver built, it will probably end up looking a lot like that one of yours. Thanks in advance guys.

My first and only engraved revolver just got sent off to Turnbull last week for final coloring. Brian Powley finished the engraving a week or so ago and sent it back to Hamilton for final surface clean up before the trip to Turnbull. I have not even seen a picture of it but it should come home later this summer then I will post s picture. Brian and I may work out a trade where I send him a USFA and one other gun and he engraved the one for me in exchange for the USFA. We will see if it works out.

My FA 500jrh by Huntington and engraved by Michael Gouse. I am really proud of this one and I am sorry but I do like to show it off! The pics really don't do it justice !!

Thanks Craig. I'll have to get that book.
What a wonderful bunch of enabling scoundrels here. Now I'm planning a custom with engraving. Last month I was happy just planning a custom.

That's a beaut. On a side note, what is the current state of affairs on getting ivory grips made?

I believe the only way to get ivory these days is to buy a gun with ivory grips already on them.
