I have already posted a photo of my new Dan Wesson in 32 mag with a 6" vent barrel but being what they are I kept an eye open for anything to add to an already fine revolver. As luck would have it I picked up a used 8" barrel for the 32.... The outside finish of the barrel would not win any beauty contests but the bore was in pristine condition.... Now to find a shroud to cover the eight incher..... The search was made easier because a small frame shroud will fit the same length barrel regardless of caliber...... There was no way in heaven that I would have drilled and tapped the original 6" vent shroud for a scope base but as luck would have it I located a six inch vent heavy with a Weaver type scope base to which I installed a discontinued Redfield 2-6X LER scope. Those Colorado made Redfield`s were in the same class as a Leupold or Burris handgun scope... A real loss for today`s handgun hunters....... A used blue eight inch .357 barrel and vent shroud in good condition was my next purchase. The price was right and the new barrel and shroud were made for each other.....Shooting offhand at a 25 yd. indoor range showed my jacketed handloads to be very accurate... I had not made any cast bullet handloads at the time but their day will come at the 100 yd outdoor range where I am a member.....PS- Sixshot, check out those handloads........

Very nice set up you have there, it's been a good long while since I've seen a Redfield handgun scope...Just one question though, what's up with that hose clamp?

Just one question though, what's up with that hose clamp? Long time ago I mounted a scope on my 454 and did not butt the ring against the turent housing. Went to the range with a coffee can full of spec handloads and shot from the bench....Over the course of the session the scope moved forward from recoil and eventually cut into the front sight neatly taking just about all of the top half. Thank God FA`s has a removable sight system.... Now I know the recoil of a 32 mag is no where near that of a 454 but old habits die hard.... Wish I kept the demolished front sight...... PS- I removed the clamp and pushed the scope up till it stopped at the rear ring....looks better

Beautiful... I've never quite gotten over parting with my Dan Wesson .357. What the hell, I was just a dumb kid back then...
