You have had plenty of time to sort it out so now that shipping and delivery seem imminent , which one ya gonna order. The 16.5 or the 20 " and why ? I'm still on the fence and waffling. I'm lazy so the short one sound "handy" but wonder if the 20" could be a better shooter.

I'll lead off if no one beats me to it... steel 20" for me. as it'll fall into a CAS gun set & be shot mostly with midlevel 32 H&R Magnums... but it'll be nice to tackle the 327's if need or desire arises...
Please... Add to it if you're going brass or steel too please... if mine was a gun I'd shoot for CAS, I'd go brass, but since it'll likely be a youth or "MRS" rifle I'm going for the lighter weight of the steel gun

I'll second that and exactly what I bought. Handles just as nice as the carbine. Longer barrel moves noise from my ears too.

the 20" holds 10 rounds... a requirement of the CAS guns

If we are talking about the Henry, make mine the 16.5" Carbine... I handled all of them at a big shop near here and like the balance.
That said my friend has two Marlin 1894s, the old ones with straight stock, 2/3s magazine and no checking in .32-20 and .25-20...thay are a joy to shoot...wish Marlin would smarten up and make a run of them in .327....

wish Marlin would smarten up and make a run of them in .327....Bob Now that Remington owns them I don't see either of those things happening. I just sold a Marlin 357 and kept a Henry 357 because it cycled and chambered rounds ( even square shouldered wad cutters ) sooooooo much better. Plus the marlin was micro-grooved and sucked with cast. Never thought I'd say it but for me Henry is the future , Marlin is the past.
