For all the comments about poorly fitted Ruger Bisley Single Sixes from the recent run of production, I thought I'd post a picture of mine received last week. Metal fit and finish is excellent--no finish errors or ill-fitting parts. Barrel cylinder gap is appropriate and the action is smooth--albeit only after I lubed the internals. Like every new Ruger I've purchased in the last few years this gun came to me bone-dry. The grips fit well in the obvious places, but the grip pin locating holes could stand to be a bit deeper; nothing a drill press won't correct while I wait to decide on custom grips. After the barrel seasoned up a bit (about 15 rounds) the gun produced nice, tight groups at 25 yards, hovering in the 3" zone which is not bad for an off the shelf gun with indifferent ammunition shot offhand. If you get a good sample of one of these sixguns, you'll get one of the best Single Six configurations Ruger has put out in years.

Agree completely. I bought several fine examples that shot great.
Will lap the bores as time allows and never look back.
But, will admit, I've seen a couple I wouldn't own.

I agree, both of mine are finished well. I have only fired the blued Bisley, with Super X I got 1 3/4" group at 25 yards a little over 2" with CCI mini mags. What I really like it that it fits the hand better than I expected.

Mine is on its way back to the Mothership to replace a broken part and refit the frame. I can't even SEE where the grip and frame meet on Oregon45's picture. Nice!
I expect it will return in the condition it should have been in when it left New Hampshire. Nothing a few more days waiting won't fix.

Nice to see a good one, there have been some pretty rough pieces slip through cracks in the last couple years. I hope the .480 I have coming is put together that well, gives me new hope.

Please forgive my ignorance- but I'm interested in this model - and can't find it on the Ruger website - a Bisley Single Six? I just bought a Single Six Hunter (7.5", ribbed) and am really enjoying it - very well put together!

Fine looking piece. Even those grips look super. I'm hopeful mine looks as nice.

Here's mine, just hours after signing for it from the UPS driver, who I chased down miles from my house (I"m an FFL). Will take it home tonight, clean it up and put a few rounds through it Saturday. Sports South had 4, I got one.

My new MSC pin gages arrived today. I had ordered .222" through .225", (all minus .0002") thinking that would be enough......WRONG!
The .225" went clean through all 6 cylinders and the .222" would not enter the muzzle. Should I worry?

I quick impromptu range session. Clean barrel, firing all the lapua brand stuff followed by RWS then CCI....I'd about 10 rds to foul the barrel with the lube before shooting the group. Fired a six shot group but only count 5 as that is my MO to throw out what may be a bad shot.
22LR 5-shot 25 yd group
SK Magazine 1.9"
SK Standard 1.35"
Special Match 1.23"
SK Polar Bipolar 1.2"
Wolf Match Tgt 1.35"
Lapua Polar Bipolar 0.69"
RWS Target Rifle 1.4 " Midas + 1.8"
Rem Target 2.18"
CCI Standard Vel 1.05"
CCI Select 1.15"
CCI Pistol Match 1.6"
Mini Mag 1.3"

So I'm supposed to be in a selling/consolidating mode, but Mike on the Ruger forum has more of these and I thought... wow, none on GB under $500 and that includes older blued models. Wish I could buy 2 of these, but I called Mike and grabbed one before they're gone. I hope mine doesn't need a bunch of work. I've been meaning to replace the little 22/45 Lite I gave my daughter for Christmas but this will do! Although I would like one of those with a suppressor and a red dot sight on it! If nothing else, I can swap out the Bisley frame, hammer, etc. with my Single 7 and still have a nice little 22. But, then again, I'm torn because the S7 is 4-5/8" and is real light and handy; a perfect woods walker around here.
