Hello James, I use a RCBS 98 grain (SWC) mould with 3 grains of WST powder. You have seen the groups of dead squirrels when you were here with me. It is with my Ruger Single six 32 Maggie.

To this point I've only shot factory loads from my buckeye and my custom S6 sherrifs' model, all have been very accurate at 25yds. I have 32wcf, 32 mag, & 32 long handloads done using H-110 but not shot them yet.

James, that load that Callshot mentions is good for about 950 fps in our guns, maybe a little faster in his because he pulls the trigger harder! Longshot, 231 & Unique is also good. If you are wanting to crank it up a bit then use more Longshot, 2400 or H110. Mag primers aren't necessary with the H110 although some use them. Brian Pearce had a good write up on the 32 magnum a while back in the Handloader, can't remember which issue but someone here will know. These 32 mag Single Sixes are strong.

Lots of information here. singleactions.proboards.com/thread/10428/notes-mag-327-fed-sp101I also suggest you search Hoover and Sixshot as thier posts will list a considerable number of loads and information. To answer your question specifically, my best and favorite 32 H&R Magnum load for my Ruger Single Six 6 1/2" gun is: CCI 550 Miha 100 grain GCHP large cavity 10.0 2400 At 100 yards from a bench that load and sixgun put 4 of 5 shots in 2 5/8"s inches on a windy day with the 5th shot opening up the group a bit more. After considerable testing, Jeff Hoover and I both decided while close, the 100 grain class bullets shot the best in the standard 32 magnum. The Ranier and Hornady XTP are also excellent if you do not cast. I plan to rerun the Miha 32 molds with a bit of twist here again pretty soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Dick, if I pull the trigger harder, then snap my wrist like the Cisco Kid, do you think it would crowd 1000fps? I want to stay sub sonic ;-). I had to tag back in as that made me chuckle. One of the guys I hunted with in years past had an old saddle ring 94 in 25-35. He always said it was such an old rifle he didn't like to shoot it very far, as he didn't want to strain it and chance breaking it. I always kidded him and said that ring on the side was to wind it up. The 25-35 is a dandy cartridge for what it was intended. Jeff

I ain't got all day to wait for my bullet to make it to the target!

Thanks guys... 2 dogs..I made the article heading you posted as a favorite.... Like you said..a ton of info.... Also picked up holsters for my 32`s... The 6" DW is held by a Lawrence 120 keith that`s lined along with a rear sight protector while the 4" S&W is in El Paso`s version of the 120 and is also lined....Loaded up some of DT`s wicked looking 116 gr. HP-GC. I believe these are the same bullets he used to destroy some Idaho rock chucks...."Don`t stop me now".................

This is a big rabbit hole, here are a few cents worth. These are all through a Single Six.
Per Dale53 (who posts on Castboolits/Rugerforum) 98 gr RCBS SWC over 3.5 grains 231/HP38, my sweet spot has been about 3.3 grains. That's right at the beginning of the loads listed in the old RCBS Cast Boolit manual which lists 3.5-3.9 grains of HP38. This slug has also been good with 3-3.5 grains of unique as well.
With the NOE 115 gr Keith SWC has been accurate with 3.5 grains of Unique.
I've had some good results with 2400 with the Lee 90 gr TLSWC. Been playing with CFE Pistol with the .327, it is in the same range as longshot, and need to try it in the .32 H&R.
The Feb 2011 Handloader, no 270 magazine had a bit of data.
