I'm usually not a big fan of how long barrels look, but when they are octagon in shape........woo whooooo! I bet it balances great. I also like the cartridge you chose. congratulations!

Are you going to scope it or leave irons on it? I really want this same gun with a little shorter tube on it...

BEAUTIFUL FA. But I have a ?. I have noticed a few of the FA Pistols here in the everyday sizes of rounds such as your .44 Sp and even a .357. So I have to ask why would one go to the expense to purchase a FA like this instead of the .475 or .480 and so on. When for the same money or even less you could purchase a Custom Built Ruger? And really this is an honest question.

jestergrin, Because they're a fabulously fitted accurate factory gun with a lifetime warranty, and not every use requires a .454, .475, or .500 tomc 1020, That's a great looking 97!

For my "set" when it comes to 22/32/357/44 special and 454/475/50 or FA and Custom Ruger the key term is "and." I like them ALL.... ;D

Ok I understand that the FA is just a preference then. I guess it would be like picking between Ruger,Colt,FA,BFR . But I have to say that I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in .44 Mag and darn it I really like the little shooter.

Man that's nice. I think it's the first FA 7.5" octagonal 44spl I've seen with a jeweled hammer. Thanks for the pics.

Very nice indeed!
I missed a very good deal on a NIB octagon 4.25" 97 .44 Spl. about a year & a half ago. I kick myself everytime I think of it.
I'm pursuing a Nimrod but a NF .44 Spl. might be next... if I can get over wanting a custom #5...
Congrats on the revolver. I bet it shoots even better than it looks.
