I dunno...I have Veral's 220 FNB (flat nose ball), most accurate 45acp bullet I've used across several platforms. Have you shot it yet?

I have the 280gr LBT LFN and shoots great in 45acp and 45 win mag. Haven't tried it in the 45LC but expect it to be great in it as well. It cast great as does every LBT mold I have does. I went with the plain base version as I make plainbase gas checks and they work very well with it as well. I also use HI-TEK coating instead of standard lube and have no issues. I have not setteled on a load yet but plan to finish load development soon then hunt with it.

Keep in mind that Veral will cut anyone anything so that could have been a custom one. I don't have a bad LBT mold and having sold a few you'll get every nickel back if you want it. Quality product and he's not getting any younger so get one now! He's quick too. Usually less than two weeks, rarely over three... now if I could just get time to heat lead...

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this bullet... That would be the 240gr version of Veral's LFN designed specifically for the 45ACP. He'll cut them in weights ranging from 220-260 grains with (according to his literature) the 230-ish grainers performing best because they strike the best balance of velocity/weight. I imagine it would work dandy on medium game as a +P load in the 45ACP or in standard 45 Super loadings. I was thinking about trying to grab that very mold, but felt kinda leery of the .451 diameter. That being said, feel free to give me a shout if you decide to let go of it...

I have one, or at least some LBT bullets in that weight range. Crazy accurate!

I have the 230 gr version, it feeds in everything I've tried it in. It's a great 1911 bullet too. All LBT moulds are custom ordered, most people order high popularity designs like the 185 .357 LFN, and the 300 gr .429 WFN, but every one is built to order. BTW, I almost bid on that mould too, you got a great price on it, but it wasn't worth the money for me to pick up another 10 grains of bullet weight.
LBT bullets are custom loading propositions too. Veral offers no data at all, but it's not difficult to work up loads for this design. LBT designs generally have a larger proportion of bullet weight outside of the case, in the nose, this reduces bullet intrusion into the case itself, lowering pressures slightly for that bullet weight. If you just plan on using lighter loads, this won't be a significant situation for you, but it does allow for some interesting experiments with higher velocities. This information is the source of Verals claim of higher velocities being possible with LBT designs. It is true, but common sense is required of course.
FWIW, Veral considers this bullet to be the epitome of a "soft target" cast bullet design for a semi-auto.
