took this african water buck in texas at the 5f ranch with my scope sighted s&w p.c.12 inch barrel 460 s&w mag.

I was there for this hunt with Ed and can say that it was a lot more exciting then the single bullet hole would suggest....and yes Eddie...thanks for sharing all these pics.....................

Love this pic! This hunt will really give you some insight on the factory promoted 460 rounds that claimed the fame or "Extreme Velocity Revolver". Maybe Eddie will share the story in depth.

great bullets for varmint,ground squirrel,etc,even though they are 200 grains,if you cant get them in between ribs,for get it.they dont hold together.surface damage,if they get inside, then look out,the inside is mush.i will never use them for anything but rock chucks and squirrels,etc.sad because ive got about 1000 rounds,i have taken cow elk,one shot,red stag hind,one shot,tahr,one shot,but i was able to slip that bullet in side the animal.

i would have to go with the barns loads.i dont hand load but if i did then the barns bullets.

yes,at least,heaver if going for an animal with an attitude.460 has a slight edge over the 454 casull in speed and power so dont be afraid to use it,nice insurance.
