That is a sleeper for sure. My last toy was a 2012 GT500 that was built by VMP Racing and was dynoed at 603/600. Just a little too raucous to drive very many places. It had LT headers, x pipe, no cats, no mufflers and 3 inch pipes all the way back. It was pulled upper and lower, CAI, colder plugs, larger injectors, and a few other tweaks.

yep... that sounds awesome... I'm trying to keep the miles down on my SS for a trip to Hennessy for a super charger & a couple 100 HP gain... if the miles are low enough they'll do a full warranty on the drive train... BTW... I wasn't trying to diminish your new purchase at all... that is one beautiful car... & it should drive like it owns the road... it's amazing what these factories are putting out in modern performance today, high end Mustangs, Camaros, Hell Cats & now the Demon ... launch control is super cool... in my car, you put it in track mode, drop the clutch, & the go peddle to the floor... it revs to about 5500 RPM, & holds... you dump the clutch, & it does a nice short burn out, until the traction control kicks in, then it does alternating short burn outs, accelerating as quickly as gravity allows... so fast in fact, that MRS was with me, & knew what we were doing, & it still threw her glasses off the top of her head & into the back seat... all that & under warranty while you do it

While I fully appreciate that car and would love to own something like it, I simply find I don't have the maturity. Happy motoring.

Back in the 1960s when I was a kid a lot of my friends had muscle cars...Fairlane GT, GTOs, hot rods... One guy had a 1964 Mustang GT Coupe. He tried every combination of headers, manifold and carburetors to make it go fast... When the MACK I came out in the fall of 1968 he sold the 64 to a another guy and bought the MACH.... Within two weeks the guy he sold the 64 to was dead and my friend was in the hospital for several months...

Simply gorgeous car.
I look back at some of my old driving habits, and stunts, and marvel in wonder that I lived through it all.

went home last night, & met one of the more "old colorful guys" from the area, he delivers the shopper & is likely 90... as I got the shopper from him at my mailbox, he related a couple stories that ended up with him riding along on a drag race between 2 local guys, a couple weeks earlier... the one he rode in was a Shelby Mustang... I don't recall him saying what the other car was... but he thought the Shelby had 600 horses & his eyes were twinkling when he said they got up to 130 mph ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I didn't have the heart to tell him that 130 probably wasn't anywhere near as fast as that car would go... 130 is at shift point for my SS in 3rd gear & there is 3 more gears to go... I don't know, but wouldn't be surprised if a 600 horse Shelby probably tops out at a governed 180 mph or so???

They basically rewrote the entire operating system for the car. All by laptop hooked into the PCU
