I've owned a 45 Colt NM Ruger since 1977. A couple years back I purchased a 45 ACP cylinder for the little gun & after a little fitting I began using the cylinder. I've shot several bullets in ACP brass looking for something to settle on. The little gun shot quite well but did lead. I took Fermin's advice & purchased a set of pin gauges & found the cylinder to have .448" throats. He offered to open them so off went the ACP cylinder to Texas. Now the little revolver shoots fine with what from here on will be called the "2 Dog Cylinder". Here's a little video made today with my phone. www.facebook.com/575376242613174/videos/827721974045265/

Lynn - I watched that video on facebook. Good shooting. Based on that distance and the size of that rock you should try Lee's 100 yd. paper plate challenge.

I think the bench rest crowd should try Lynn's style. Bench resting tests intrinsic uniformity of firearm and ammo. Shooter variance is mitigated by the bench rest. Shooting standing or using an improvised rest at shooter estimated ranges tests the shooter. The latter is what makes or breaks a hunter.

I've shot it off & on for the last 40 years. Killed my largest whitetail with it on a very cold Montana day. But, but, but I've never been even close to a good shot with it. When the ACP cylinder came into my possession I decided to try & master this 45. I began to shoot the little gun in February of 2016. I shot it all winter but my trip to Kansas & other points west in April/May ended my shooting. The winter of 2017 after hunting season I picked the gun up again & shot it till I sent Fermin the cylinder. Upon return of the cylinder I shot maybe a 100 rounds last week & yesterday I put another 100 through it the video being part of it. I've not tried a bunch of loads in this gun mainly 'cause I have a bunch of Promo. I have tried 4 different bullets though. The latest one is the Lee. Since I wasn't looking for "the best" load I've hardly shot it from the bench. So the paper plate thing might or might not do well.
