A first for me.... coloradoyaler and I were at the range shootin the 50's this morning. He was shooting his FA 500JRH he just got and I was doing some accuracy testing with a 540gr load in the 500L. Up until recently I didn't have a tall enough front sight but Gallagher sent me one and this was the first time testing it. I've been shooting this load but POI was 6 inches high. First 5 shots, 28yds rested. It was a head scratcher at first. No way I could pull one over a foot at that distance off a rest! Close inspection reveals 2 in one hole. whoohoo! I've seen pics from other guys here but this is a first for me!

I think the grease ring gives it away. Good shooting!

It's like getting a hole in one on the golf course, you look everywhere else for the ball and it's where you sent it!

Love it and it wasn't done with a powder puff loading. Great shooting and those loads require a talllll front sight.

I see this more often with rifle shooting but it happens to me fairly frequently.

Perry, Lately I can shoot 2, 3 and even 4 shots and must being getting them in the same hole! I'll shoot 5 rounds and then check the target and there will only be 4, 3 or 2 holes! Never one to doubt my abilities, even shooting one-handed, weak-handed and shaking like a leaf! (Insert stupid grin here!)
Today is my last day in this stupid sling following shoulder surgery. Hoping soon I can get 5 holes on my targets again! Twelve more weeks of physical therapy and I hope I can shoot boomers again.
Good shooting, by the way. It is a really neat feeling when that happens, one I don't experience all that often!
Tim

Here's to quick, full healing for you Tim!
I've shot clover leafs and groups with holes touching, one ragged hole groups of a bunch rounds, etc. But to "split the arrow" was a first and to have it on a clean target was a first. I see it as a fluke. But hey, something to shoot for!

Tim, Get well soon. Your missing some mighty fine shooting weather. I think I will bust a few caps today if the weather holds.
