Hello All,
I got the call last Friday my 83 converted to 500JRH is done! I will get it in hand tomorrow. I had him install an octagon barrel and use the best Turkish walnut blank for the grips he could find.
I was very surprised it was done so quick!! I sent it to him March 3rd and April 14th its done and on its way! I have always wanted a custom single action. I just never like the idea of the wait a lot of smiths are requiring. I am going to shoot it a few times then fire it off to the engraver.
Synd what are you doing Wensday?
Regards Mark

Okay Okay guys.... He does't have the gun yet, at least as I type this. It's supposed to be here today if overnight from the lower 48 really is overnight. If so, we'll be at the range tomorrow! Let me tell, you. When this project/package is done it will be saweet! I won't give out any spoilers. I can't hardly wait. I'm really looking forward to it. I practically feel like it's my custom! I have/will be casting boolits for it so that makes me feel like it's Godfather

That is a great looking revolver! Love the octagon barrel. Did you have him do his grip mod too?

Thank You!
No grip mode per se. I sent a hand tracing and the grip fits me perfectly. The grips have no flare at the bottom or heel like my factory micarta grips on my 454 md 83.

“... Snyd and I are going to shoot it tomorrow and then its off to get engraved.” -----coloradoyaler ***** coloradoyaler.... reckon, since you’ve made your mind up to engrave your M83, you’ve selected the style and the artisan to do it. Reckon, also, imagery will be thin----rendered in low relief----since Freedom Arms steel is tough. Some engravers might rather walk hot coals and swim in ice water than carve on a Freedom Arms Casull. Exemplars of low and high relief: engraver Winston Churchill works in bas-relief (shallow cut, low relief). Bill Johns carves deep, or high-relief. David Bradshaw
