I saw a few of these on gunbroker and actually bI'd on a black ported one (never met reserve). Hows does the S&W 632 .327 federal compare to the Ruger sp101?

Probably not gonna get many opinions about a 632 here , not many around and they really don't get shot. Misdirected marketing and lackadaisical sales guaranteed a short run . Seems you already ran into the first hurdle , price. Like all S&W .32 revolvers with adj. sights they became collectable things not shootable things. If I were to really look around here I would find 2 632 models (1 in 32 mag , 1 in .327) and probably 6 .327 Rugers (3 sp101, 1 GP100 and a couple single sevens) The only real comparison I could make is I never shoot the S&Ws and I do shoot the Rugers ,,,,a lot.

I had a stainless one that was the end of a short run and went for a fairly low price. Sent it back to S&W to fix because it was spitting lead and powder and the SA trigger seemed dangerously light to me. I never shot it after getting it back, saw the crazy prices on GB and sold it, using the proceeds to buy a Colt LE6920 with the black MagPul furniture.
Picked up a Single Seven later and never looked back. The Speer 115 grain GDHP ran right at 1300 fps from the 3" S&W 632, but runs over 1500 fps from the 4-5/8" barreled S7.

I own a 632 ported. The gun is nice, but a little lively with 100gr. Federal AE ammo. In all fairness have not shot it that much. But I would carry it instead of a 2.5 Mod.19 or 66. Six rounds, real ballistics, smaller package. I would never run a lot of full power .327 thru it like it was a Blackhawk though. Gun does stay loaded with 115 Gold Dot ammo. Just my 2 cents.

Here is a picture of mine when it was still pretty new. I put the Hogue grips on it. I like the 115gr NOE SWC and the 125gr NEI SWC. They shoot well at 1,200 fps. The port discolors the forward face of the front sight. No affect on aiming.

I like this revolver. This one reminds me if the S&W Model 60 Pro from Ellett Bros. It is a .357 but I like it. I studied on the Ferminator bullet quite a bit when it was in the group buy. I ended up going with a bit lighter bullet. I generally shoot the 115-gr and lighter bullets in the light weight revolvers. Heavyweight Midweight
