been buying quite a bit of hardware lately... my small rifle loading die boxes have been getting pretty full lately... likely will need a suit case by the time I get to fully outfitting my long action die boxes typical short action rifle die box contains... 3 shell holders... regular, Lee Hand Prime shell holder, & extended for the file trim die Dies... sizing die ( maybe a neck sizer ) File trim die, usually a belling die, bullet seating die, & usually a crimp die I often have to get creative packing everything into the RCBS die boxes I use... might have to go to a different box if I start file trimming my long action cases... how about you guys... how much is enough???

I load for 73 different calibers. Have more dies than that, but not guns in those calibers.
But, to be clear, some require the same dies. Such as 480 Ruger & 475 Linebaugh, 44 Magnum & 44 Special, etc.

The real trick is having all your stuff organized so you can get right to the tool you need...

I ended up using an old heavy duty filing cabinet to store die sets in. Just put them in there label up. IMHO, Hornady die boxes are the best offered. Drawers just glide open and an open slot means it is gone. The yearly school and college auctions are coming up soon. A lot of good heavy storage supplies can be had for cheap, along with benches and stools. Go to one of these auctions and one will get a grasp on why your taxes are so blasted high. Getting ready to inventory each drawer later this summer and have a laminated copy on top. I have been picking up odds and ends of junk dies for some ideas I have as soon as I get this lathe set up and running. Hopefully all of the weak minds and strong backs show this weekend at the same time. Jeff

I've only been reloading for about 5 years. I load for 13 different calibers, soon to be 14. Its an ever evolving task to keep the dies organized. Especially when you start adding crimp dies, puller dies, micrometer dies, then if you use a Hornady LNL progressive press, you need the plates and collars. Its the same with tools. I like the idea of a filing cabinet option. The older I get, the more I tend to hoard. Its all about the hunt. I don't see this changing until I give up the ghost.

While I was working, I had a 10 drawer 3' X 4' flat file for storing maps & drawings. Always wished I had one of my own for organizing the millions of things I have that are less than 2" or so tall.
They are ridiculously expensive new but would be something to watch for at one of those school/government auctions jsh speaks of.

I have a 72" and a 60" mechanics roller cabinets in my room and the drawers are full. They organize well and lock up which doesn't hurt.
