Is it just me or are these guns pretty darn good for the money?
Heck I own several Reeder guns and frankly and honestly would not even consider them as precise or tight as my BFR. Either Reeder is just over charging or BFR is undercharging for the outstanding quality there guns are. I think moving forward instead of wasting money on the Reeder customs I will buy some more BFRs maybe sending them to Jack for upgrades as desired would be far better than the Reeder option.

My personal opinion is BFRs are a great value for great guns.

I don't think you can waste money on a Reeder custom just remember that it is custom. I'd love a BFR but, I still drool over the 3k builds on Ruger platforms.

Ramjet, I couldn't agree more! You are so right. They are great revolvers and a great bargain as far as I'm concerned. I just had one I ordered a while back delivered today and I am thus far impressed. Can't wait to shoot it and hunt with it.

Every BFR I have shot has been a laser. But not a custom. Not a fair comparison. My Reeders have either been just as accurate or Reeder made them so.

I guess it's because I happen to live out here in the back woods of Idaho but I've only seen maybe 3-4 BFR's in my life. The one's I have seen look really nice but for some reason very few dealers carry them. I have never shot one.

I think you would be really hard pressed to find better accuracy. This is with factory loads and a red dot -- not a scope that magnifies. 50 yards. .45/70: .500 JRH -- again, equipped with a red dot and not a scope at 50 yards with factory one-size-fits-all loads (5-shots): With hand loads (or not) I would pit these revolvers up against just about anything. They just flat out shoot.

If you want a revolver to do heavy work, hold up doing it, and be something you aren't afraid to get dirty, then the BFR is the ticket. They are built right and tight where it counts. I bet Ruger Blackhawks dream of being BFRs when they grow up.

That's been my experience but frankly most Reeder "customs" are semi custom rechambered to his proprietary calibers. I am coming to the realization I can purchase a BFR like my 444 and have money left over for a Hgh quality optic. I will admit getting sucked into the Reeder thing but no reason too. Bunch gawky carving or poorly executed engraving does not make the gun function any better. Plus the BFR comes in good range of calibers capable of taking anything on this earth. the fit and finish on my BFR is as good if not better than any of the so called Reeder Customs I own. Yup sit back take an objective look and those folks over in MN put together a darn nice gun. I just wish they would put out a few more.

I wish BFR would take the next step and make a Model 97 or Ruger mid frame size revolver. My BFR JRH is a really well executed revolver.

I'd like to see them bring back the Maximum frame for the 445 SuperMag, 460 S&W, 500 S&W and similar cartridges.

I've seen exactly one here in Wyoming. A .475 Linebaugh at the gun store in Cody for $600 should have bought it but don't know what i would have used it for.

I think the 3-4 I mentioned seeing were all 45/70's, not sure what calibers are even available. I haven't seen one in a few years so am not familiar with them at all except for what you guys are saying, it just seems odd you never see them in any of the local stores, ever. I notice the top strap seems to be thicker on those shown. Any other differences other than those targets do indicate a quality gun & shooting.
