This one arrived today after a bit of a wait. It's a .32-20 Buckeye that an "Engineer" in NY who said he attended the gunsmithing school in Trinidad did some modifications on. He installed the bisley grip frame which has been rounded just a tad and the contour reminds me of a Dustin L contour with that little flair at the rear and bisley hammer which is stainless and could use polishing. He also shortened the barrel to 5.15"(odd number) Bobby Tyler removed the barrel markings, polished case hardened and blued the rest of the revolver. Bobby also said "The front of the receiver and barrel face have been faced off blueprinted and trued up, end shake has been set and all cylinders have been trued up". I'll be honest, I haven't seen a whole lot of Bobby's work and was a bit skeptical but it's damned nice. My biggest distraction is that the front sight isn't at the end of the barrel where it belongs but I'm confident an Aggie01 blue sight base will fix that. All in all it's quite a nice gun.

That is a nice rig. I have tossed around converting my buckeye to a Bisley. That is one conversion I wish they would offer again. Jeff

That's a nice custom revolver. I agree that it'll probably look better with the Aggie sight.

So...have any of you folks with these Buckeyes had the throats opened up or are the .313 bullets shooting OK?

I seem to remember the 32/20 cylinder in my gun measured .3135" and the 32 mag cylinder measured .3105", I know I opened the 32 mag cylinder up to match the 32/20 and just run .313" bullets for both. Both cylinders shoot better than I can hold but the 32/20 cylinder seriously spits powder when the pressures start getting above what I can do with the 32 mag cylinder. I do like the gun though...

Is that because of the barrel/cylinder gap?

Is that because of the barrel/cylinder gap? Don't think so, the gap on the 32/20 cylinder is .0015", about as tight as I've every seen. Maybe if there was a bigger gap?...
