I won't be buying the stainless guns like the blued ones. I got several of those too cheap to pass up.
I may build customs from them or sell a couple later.

Beautiful pistols, IMO. I just don't want another caliber. A 5 1/2" blued flat top Bisley in .41 to go with my "AccuSport" would definitely pique my interest, tho.

That's funny and I'm rarely speechless but....that's funny! You'll see.... Greg, Dick is an expert on 2 pieces. 2 pieces of pie, 2 pieces of steak.... you get the idea. I knew that Dick and I had more things in common than just shooting sports, guns and the great outdoors! I have got to get to Ideeeho!!! I'll call ahead though and give'em all a head's up to double up on pies, cakes, BEEF and Huckleberry's for shakes! Might be a shortage after Dick and I get done... What? Shooting makes a man, Hungry! Especially these nice FT 44's, SS or Blued l...(keeping with the thread topic ) BigBore44

My local dealer called this morning to let me know my SS 44 special Bisley flattop had come in. I went to give it my thorough inspection, and it was very nice. Unfortunately, had to put it on layaway as the wallet was too light to take it home. I do wish I could have. Fit and finish was really good. Grip fit was ok, not the best, but far from the worst I have seen from Ruger the last few years. Cylinder gap appears to be nice and tight, and no endshake. The one thing I personally think it needs is the black laminate grips on it like my Williams .45 Bisley convertible has. That would complete the look for me. I really like those grips on stainless Ruger sixguns. Now the waiting begins until I can rescue it out of jail.

Any of you really are welcome about anytime, I can always use some help fighting off these ground squirrels, badgers, rock chucks etc. Now the Huckleberry shakes I can handle on my own!

I forgot to mention I chose the 5.5" barrel length. It's my personal favorite on single actions. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread about the new laser etched markings. I do believe mine has those type markings. My Williams Bisley does too. If I remember correctly, the serial number on the flattop was somewhat closer to the cylinder window than it is on my williams bisley. I wish I had taken a few pics with my phone for reference purposes, but I didn't think to do it at the time. I may stop by the dealer sometime next week to do that.

Just an update: I had previously reported that fit and finish were really good. Well, actually not so much. I traded off my Williams Bisley .45 to fund the new flattop. Picked it up on Wednesday, cleaned it up a bit, and shot a few rounds. Afterwards, I got to looking closer at things, and I didn't like what I saw. Recoil shield, loading gate, area at base pin latch, and loading trough all needing better polishing. I didn't notice this at the store, or I wouldn't have bought it. Sharp edge in hammer slot on right side of grip frame. Hammer rubs on hammer slot where it rests on frame. Action feels a bit rough and gritty. Trigger pull was ok, 4lbs or so on my trigger scale. I checked the cylinder throats with a .430 Hornady xtp 240 grain after cleaning, before I shot it. 4 passed thru fairly easily, 2 wouldn't pass thru at all. These 2 throats were next to each other. Both had a small mark on the cylinder face right at the throat. Not sure what they were there for. It also has a 1/16" or so gap between the loading gate and frame. Anyhow, I called Ruger customer service this morning, spoke to a very nice lady there about all of these issues, and its on a FedEx vehicle back to Ruger for service. Definitely wasn't close to the final fit and finish of the .45 convertible I traded to buy the flattop with. I really like the .44, and hope it returns as nice as I expect it to. It just looked like some of the areas weren't final polished. I've seen worse, but I've also seen much better from Ruger. Fingers crossed.

I'll try to post some pics when it returns. Hopefully, it will be as nice as it should have been to start with. We'll see.

I have only seen one of these in guns in person and would have bought it but it was used and the owner was asking new price. FWIW, I don't think I've ever picked up a revolver that feels better in my hand.

I called today to check on my SS .44 Flattop Bisley. The nice lady at Ruger said it was with a technician, but he hadn't given any details as to what work is being/has been done to fix its issues. They got it back last Wednesday, so I'm not sure where we're at right now. I told her there was no hurry, as I would much rather it return "right", rather than them rush it back out, and me have to send it back again. It was rushed out of the production factory to start with, otherwise it wouldn't have left NH in the condition it was in. Patiently awaiting its return, hopefully "right". We'll see.
