These are starting to appear on GunBroker. Trying to decide on 4-5/8" or 5-1/2"...Maybe both?

My LGS called and mine will be in Monday. I only got the 5 1/2" version because I have so many blued ones.

I have both barrel lengths, but I prefer the 4-5/8" myself. I grabbed the 5-1/2" model to use as the base gun for a 5-shot 480 conversion.
Oops! I missed the "SS" part... boy howdy, I'd like to get one of those in either size!

I have a blued 4-5/8" standard grip and a 5-1/2" Bisley in 44 Special, love them both. I'll probably get a 5-1/2" SS model for a shooter and shop around for another with the correct serial number placement for a 480.

Something that may (I hope) be part of these guns is the new serial number marking Ruger is using now.
Guns with the new marking method have been trickling out over the past 6 months or so.
The significance is that the concern over serial number placement seems to be a thing of the past as the new system leaves plenty of room for the window to be opened up.
I just bought one so we'll see.
It won't stay in one piece long, I can assure all of that.....

I picked up four of the blued guns for future project guns.
Reeder put an octagon barrel on one and Huntington built my 480 Ruger on another.
I've decided to keep a 4 5/8" and a 5 1/2" as factory guns.
All of these have out shot my FA and custom guns. I hope the Stainless guns are as good.

"Out shot your FA" That's one hell of a statement.
You must have a beauty.

I read that Ruger was using only their most highly skilled people to grind & polish the blued Flattop revolvers, and I must say that every one I have seen personally has exhibited an exceptional fit & finish. I sure hope that is the case with these new stainless guns as well.

I agree about the fit & finish of the blued flat tops, we all know that translates into a better shooting gun.. Haven't seen one of the new stainless guns yet but I'm guessing they will be great, I'll just have to see if I can get there before encore64, he's went flattop crazy....pretty smart. Uh, give me a "one piece" stainless flat top please!
