I have some 300gr WFNGC LBT bullets and wanted to know if anyone has any load data they would recommend for the new vaquero sized guns. I have W231, H4227, HS6, and Unique that I was thinking of using unless you guys have a different recommendation. Thanks in advance
Looking for something to use for black bear season this fall.

I've never loaded 300 grain bullets in a midframe 45 Colt. Is yours a 5-shot or 6-shot revolver? That'll make a big difference right there.
IIRC, Handloader had some 300 grain loads for 45 Colt awhile back, but again, I'm not sure if Brian included 300 grain loads for a 6-shot midframe New Vaquero...

I tried one of the 335 Gr. LFNGC that I shoot in my redhawk and they have 1/16" or maybe a little more from the end of the cylinder so I'm pretty sure the 300 WFN would have enough room if I can load them to 950 fps or so I would like to try them. I'll look in my Lyman book when I get home.

The Bowen lightweight packs so well I'm just not sure about shooting the 300 gr without the bisley grip.

I use bluedot. There's load data available. I forget the exact charge, but it's in the neighborhood of 10 grains. I think the quoted pressure is 15ksi, the load data was in the "regular" 45 colt section, not the "ruger only" section. So should be GTG in any gun Recoil is more than a cowboy colt, I guess, but still very weak. Nothing like 23 gr of H110 behind the same bullet in a large frame ruger

I looked at the Handloader partial I have saved on my computer at home, and it's data for the 270-SAA bullet, which weighed in at 285 grains for Brian Pearce's loads. I think he loaded 12.5 grains Blue Dot in the 14,000 psi range.
I have some of those bullets but they cast out at about 290 grains and I loaded them to 12 grains of Blue Dot. I have not sent any of those over a chronograph yet so I can't comment past that.
I didn't see the actual 300 grain data I was thinking about, though, so no good news on that front...

huh, looks like my online sources are blank, too.
Maybe LEE reloading guide? let me check my books when I get home this weekend and see what I can find.

That's the article I was thinking about. It has that 318 grain Lyman 454629 in the 23k psi section.
