to completing the quest of having a Ruger worked over by each of the top 'smiths of this day and age. I emailed Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision to see when the Om 44 Ft was ready to head down to him. It has been one year since we sent the work order and the deposit and he emailed back that it truly was time to send it down. Headed his way is a nice OM 44 flat top, a Bowen rear sight, a brass MR-3BD frame along with the Cary fit Macassar (sp) ebony grips and a Clements OM regular framed bisley spurred hammer. Jim is going to perform his Master tune, Deluxe reblue, fit the grip frame, install his sculpted front sight and the Bowen sight, double dowel the ERH and cut the barrel to 5 1/2". This will be my first Stroh gun but everyone I've talked to and everything I've read says that Jim is a master craftsman in metalwork and a true southern gentleman. Maybe by the time he gets done I can find a camera! ;D If I do, I promise, no toes in the picture!

He's a fine gent and does great work! His shop is clean enough to eat off the floor and last time I was there he let me look at some of the goodies in his safe. Like that little Best Grade .32H&R Single Six. He's in GA, not too far north of Atlanta but I don't know how "southern" he is.

Can't wait to see it. I am just now in line for a 45 Colt conversion of an early M29 with Jim. I hope to see mine in 6 months or so.

I am hoping that since the order and the payment was sent in a year ago that once it hits his shop it gets started right away. I'm kind of excited to see his work first hand.

Na, I just replaced my entire back deck so the background is there, it is just the camera part that is missing. I really should look at getting a camera again. Not that it would help me take better pictures but at least I could take bad pictures!

Axe, you better mail me a camera. The TLA 41 will be here Friday and Alan just let me know the 414 should be headed this way next week as well. Oh well, I'll just do my best to describe them to you since there is no camera in the inn!
