My pistol smith thought I was losing my mind when I asked him to mount a Red Dot sight on this revolver. However, the rear sight was only adjustable for windage and I couldn't zero it. With my aging eyes, the Red Dot is my solution... and-d-d, it works! Dale53 That's an awesome looking rig IMO!

Thanks for the kind words, folks! It actually is a fine little rig for edible small game (and varmints). The only beef I have with it, my hands are a bit too big for it even with the after market grips. However, that is "small potatoes"...
It won't be leaving here any time soon(:>))!

Ok I have found that my sp 101 has various throat sizes 312.5 to 315.5...I have been able to get MBW .313s 125 lfn/gc Bhn/22 to shoot 1 to 1.5 inch groups using 12.5 grains of 5744 (warm) or 10.5grns of 2400 Small pistol primers at 25 yds...I think I will go with this....Thanks for the help an hopefully this helps another...

315.5? Yipes! If there ever was a reason to shoot powder coated cast that would be it.

Just got an SP101 in 327 but haven't shot it yet, been too cold! I'm surprised a .311" bullet will shoot well in your 32 maggie, seems undersize to me but that just goes to show you that every gun is different. I'll be shooting in the next few days with 3-4 different bullets, none will be sized .311", at least to start with. They will be powder coated. Dick Dick, how is the Sp 101 testing going? Whats working well? Thanks Frank

Frank, I haven't fired another round through my gun yet. Been busy watching the grandson's play basketball, shoveling global warming & staying out of the cold as much as possible. I'll shoot more in the next week but won't be doing any load development until this weather changes. One of my married son's spotted it & has tried to buy it twice already!

.315"? I don't have the SAAMI specs handy but isn't that over max? Any chance Ruger would swap the cylinder out with little to no heartburn?
500, there's a number of threads on powder coating around here. It's easy and cheap enough to get into that I'm going to give it a go if/when I get more room and time.

Frank, wish I had some 327's cast up, I would send you some that I would powder coat without sizing, that way you could try them in those oversize throats. Have to wait for this weather to warm up before I fire up the furnace. Even the Jackrabbits are buying long johns!
