Grab a new model 357 blackhawk and have a maximum cylinder shortened to just fit in the frame window and there you go. How does that work? The cylinder might fit the window but it's still chambered for a 1.605" case length and would have virtually no throat.

True, you case length is still 357 length but you have more cylinder in front of the end of the case so you can use longer bullets and have a longer OAL on your loaded round.
