A new idea, it only hurt a little. This one should fall somewhere between mildly humorous and brilliant ! Looks like the .25 cal and various .32 cal cartridges are gaining in popularity, being chambered in more and more firearms. A cheaper plinking option and a way around the lack of .22 RF we just suffered thru. Also, the 32's in smaller DA's, a CCW option too. So, while a good excuse for a new gun, I've not gone there, not embraced them yet. Last evening and idea hit me right 'tween the eyes. Sabots. Yup, if they can be made to run .44 bullets in .50 and .54 cal muzzle-loaders and even a .22 outta a 30-06, you can't tell me you couldn't get one to work thru .44's and .45's that would let you shoot .25 or .32 bullets. I'd like 5 % please.. Your thoughts ?

barrel cylinder gap may be hard on them??? otherwise I'm totally into the 25's ( custom 25 ACP revolver, & custom 257 Special revolver ) & 32's ( currently wearing a S&W Air Weight 6 shot 32 H&R Magnum on my belt right now ) but a sabot 22 out of a 44 or 45 might make an interesting squirrel gun, provided there were acceptable accuracy... I had a couple boxes in 30-06, & the factory sabots got me OK accuracy at 50 - 100 yards, but they really fell off at 200 - 300 yards, so the '06 never went P dogging with me

I'm thinking one of them .327 heavy for caliber slugs outta .44mag might be all kinds of fun and even in a .44spec hull thru my Bulldog ! Maybe one of them .257 Jack Rabbits would be better in the 44spec hull.
