I am looking for a good used Holster for Smith and Wesson 63. This is the 4 inch model. I would like leather. Thanks Jeff

I think simply rugged holsters are top notch from my limited experience they seem to leave a bit larger footprint than other designs such as the tom three persons. I'm looking for something that leaves a smaller footprint as possible for this gun.
Thx

Understood. Congrats on the 63. I've considered one for a long time. I think they're probably a top notch, packing revolver.

Thanks I couldn't agree more. My plan for this one this to be my constant trail/camping companion. Perfect for the wild here in central and western Nebraska Pineridge country

Jeffer, look up the Bianchi #5BHL "Kit Gun" This is what carry's my 4in. 34 and 63. I belive it may still be in production. Small closed bottom thumbreak holster. Never cared for a holster the size of a baseball glove for a small gun. Just my opinion.....

Thx Not sure of your meaning of footprint but from my experience with both SR's pancakes and the Three Persons, SR's pancakes print much less than a Three Persons. Now if you mean real estate on your belt then the Three Persons takes the cake there.

Mike Barranti or Rob Leahy will set you up - both are gentlemen and craftsmen.

Two weeks ago I gave my dads model 63 to my youngest son. I had bought it new for my dad back about 1980, also bought a set of target grips and a S&W holster. Still had all of it.
That holster is very similar to a Bianchi #10, or a Tom Threepersons style. Something similar ought to be perfect for your use.

It's all personal preference I guess, and I need to try my Kit guns and Bearcats in a Threepersons to know the difference. But, what I do know is that the SR in either of those guns is awfully hard to beat. You have inside/outside capability, maximum gun protection ( as all that sticks out is 3/4 of the grip ), and when worn outside on a proper belt, will carry like its welded to your body. Whatever you end up choosing, use it lots and enjoy that fantastic little M 63, I do.

The SDP is quite a bit smaller & trimmer than the Sourdough. Lays flat on your side like there's nothing there.

Try a Bianchi 5BHL made especially for the S&W Kit Gun These are less than $50 on Amazon, unfortunately may be made in Mexico these days
