A 5" Toklat (sp) version of the SRH in .480 will instantly get my money. Since I wrote this I have also acquired a 7 1/2" SRH in .480. I am not much interested in the Alaskans but a 5"? Yeah! YUP!!! I'm planning to make my 9.5" 44mag SRH a 4.75"-5" one of these days. One in 480 would be Grrreat!

Just personal preference, but I don't like the skinny slab-sided barrel of the Toklat. Just make mine with the same fat barrel of the SRH, pretty please!

That was my original plan in grabbing a CDNN SRH in 480 for pretty cheap... to cut down the barrel to 4.80" (nice number, right?) and make it a go - to gun for handgun hunting here in western Oregon, or woods walking/fishing in Alaska. But once I shot it, and liked it so much, I'm hesitant to cut the barrel. A new "Alaskan" with a 4" barrel would be the perfect addition to my little stable.

A 3-4" RH in 480 ? Seems someone here who shall remain nameless, has swapped a .454 SRH cylinder into their .45Colt RH.

I would rather have the round barrel. I would take either from the factory though rather than go through the expense of having my smith chop the barrel, re solder the sight, etc...
